Kindness at the "Coffee Bean"

In February, I was fortunate to be asked to fill in as a Facilitator for 5 weeks at Starting Point; A Twelve Week Employability Program sponsored by the Pictou County Women's Resource & Sexual Assault Centre and funded by Canada-Nova Scotia Labour Market Development Agreement under the direction of Employment Nova Scotia.

This story came to me from Krista; one of the women who took part in that Starting Point Program. I want to thank her for allowing me to share her story with all of you. I know for sure Krista's excitement and kindness will inspire many others.

Today I was having coffee at Coffee Bean. I bought my coffee and saw they had my made my favorite muffin. "Oh no," I said. "I have no more money left so I can't get one." I then went to sit down with a young fellow I knew from coming into the Coffee Bean. Next he went to order his favorite muffin for himself. It was the same as mine. I laughed and told him it was also my favorite. He asked if wanted one and I said I didn't have any money left. The next thing I know was he was going back to the counter to get one for me. I was shocked and said thank you. Then I gave him the heart you had given me. I told him all about the story of the hearts and he loved it.

Thank you Krista for sharing your heart with someone who was kind to you. I love it that people continue to share their individual stories with me. You all make the world a more special place to live!
