Personal Heartpass Story

The following is the one heartpass story that I will never forget. In early April, I went to a  conference in Toronto, put on by Hay House Publishing called “I Can Do It”. I spent five days listening to some of my favourite authors. During that time my Mom went into facility respite at the Oddfellow’s Home in Pictou. I remember how worried she was about being separated from me and staying in a place unfamiliar to her.

On my return home I was happy to see she had totally enjoyed herself. Her face lit up as she told me how the staff decided they wanted to keep her. A few even stopped by to tell me how much fun they had all experienced. After they left my Mom asked me if I had any hearts to give to all those who had been so kind to her during her five day stay.

I immediately went home and made twelve hearts for her to pass on. The next day I pushed her around in the wheel chair as she went from person to person passing out each heart. At first she asked me to explain the story of the hearts. With a big smile she would always point out her hands on the back.  By about the third person she was telling the story and my heart was so full of love for her. What a mother/daughter moment! I think all children, no matter what age, seek validation from their parents.

Eight days later my Mom passed. She no longer softens the clay with her hands but her love lives in my own. We pass that on to you and ask you to do the same.
